project description

Working with an existing Edwardian cottage in a heritage streetscape, this project creates a large contemporary home with a modern twist. The new two storey elements are hidden from the street behind the existing form, but grow into the rear to create a strong sculptural form of light and shade. Large open plan living spaces on ground level open out to the rear terrace and expansive garden and pool. The linking stair space uses light and from to create an almost monastic space.
