waterfront modern

This project was a significant makeover and remodelling of an existing waterfront art deco influenced property. The owners wished to retain design elements from the original house and integrate these into a new contemporary home. The house is positioned at the top of the site and stretches down to a boatshed sitting over Middle Harbour.

The design changes activate the site with a new swimming pool, gym + cabana, landscaped terraces including a fire pit terrace and sensitively designed gardens linking the house down to the waterfront.

The design of the new works respects and enhances the existing Art Deco features, while creating a contemporary character which references the site, rock outcrops and waterfront locale, capturing sweeping views and integrating landscape elements into and around the building. Key design elements include over height spaces and highlight glazed elements which bring light and space into the interior of the home.
